Orikhivska Correctional Colony (No. 88)
The State Institution “Orikhivska Correctional Colony (No. 88)” was part of the structure of the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine and ensured the enforcement of sentences in the form of deprivation of liberty in accordance with the requirements of the criminal-executive legislation of Ukraine.
Following the start of the full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the sharp deterioration of the security situation in the Zaporizhzhia region, a real threat to the life and safety of the convicts and the staff of the institution arose. In this regard, in 2022, convicts were evacuated to other institutions of the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine. Subsequently, the territory on which the State Institution “Orikhivska Correctional Colony (No. 88)” is located found itself under the temporary occupation of the Russian Federation.
In this regard, the state authorities of Ukraine lost the opportunity to manage the institution, control the state of its property complex, and obtain reliable information regarding the current condition of the facilities and their use.
Thus, the State Institution “Orikhivska Correctional Colony (No. 88)” belongs to the institutions of the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine from which convicts were evacuated in 2022, and the institution itself found itself in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
In accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, the territory on which the institution is located is an inalienable part of Ukraine, temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, and the state property remains the property of Ukraine regardless of actual control over it.
Type of institution: correctional colony.
Status: in 2022, the evacuation of convicts was carried out; the institution is located in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
Information regarding management, contact telephone numbers, and email addresses is unavailable in connection with the temporary occupation of the territory.
