Department for the Execution of Sentences once again left without attention

Anti-corruption initiatives of the new government bypass the sphere of the execution of sentences in Ukraine. During 2010, 1,500 civil servants and officials who carry out work on preventing corruption will undergo special training and professional development. At the same time, among them, there is not a single employee of the Criminal-Executive System of Ukraine.

It seems the new government has decided to support what has already become the traditional attitude towards the problems of education for employees of the criminal-executive system. If the government initiatives carried out in 1998 led to the fact that 47,600 employees of the Directorate were left without a specialized higher education institution, then the new government, while conducting anti-corruption initiatives, left them without even professional development courses in the field of anti-corruption.

Let us recall that in 2010, the Main Civil Service Agency planned to train 1,500 civil servants and officials based at the Kyiv National University of Internal Affairs and the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs under the professional development program for the prevention and counteraction of corruption in government bodies.
