Tigipko considers the voting results in prisons dishonest
Presidential candidate and leader of the ‘Strong Ukraine’ party Serhiy Tigipko considers the voting results in prisons dishonest.
He announced this to journalists.
“Pay attention to the special polling stations: prisons, public institutions. It is a shame for the authorities. The same technologies are being cynically used; this is dishonesty,” he said.
At the same time, according to the candidate, no overly large-scale violations were observed during the first round of the elections.
“(The violations) did not significantly affect the results. There were no serious violations,” he said.
Tigipko is satisfied with the voter support received in the first round.
As the agency reported, 80,849 voters in prisons voted for presidential candidate and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, and 34,034 voted for presidential candidate and leader of the Party of Regions Viktor Yanukovych.
5,022 prisoners voted for Tigipko.
In total, 142,800 prisoners were included in the voter lists.
On 17 January, presidential elections were held in Ukraine.
