Volodymyr Pinkas – Honoured Lawyer of Ukraine
Almost thirty years ago (in December 1978), Volodymyr Pinkas joined the service at the Northern Correctional Colony No. 90 as a junior lieutenant. Later, he served for several years as the head of a pre-trial detention centre. During the 'turbulent' years following the collapse of the Soviet Union, at the request of school teachers, he was the first in the history of the Kherson institutions to lead 'tours' of the pre-trial detention centre for 'troubled' teenagers. It is worth noting that, as a result, many of them did indeed reform.
Since 2001, Volodymyr Hryhorovych has served as the Head of the Department of the State Penitentiary Service in the Kherson region. Two years ago, he received the rank of Major General of the Internal Service.
On the 20th of August, by Presidential Decree, Volodymyr Pinkas was awarded the honorary title of 'Honoured Lawyer of Ukraine' for his distinguished service in protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, safeguarding constitutional human rights and freedoms, and for the courage and dedication displayed in the performance of his military and professional duties.
