Pryazovia Correctional Colony (No. 107)
State Institution "Pryazovia Correctional Colony (No. 107)" was part of the structure of the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine and ensured the execution of sentences in the form of imprisonment in accordance with the requirements of Ukraine's criminal-executive legislation.
The institution was located in the Zaporizhzhia region and for a long time functioned as a correctional colony for the detention of convicts. The colony carried out measures regarding employment, vocational training, and social-educational work aimed at the resocialization of the convicts.
After the start of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the occupation of part of the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region in 2022, State Institution "Pryazovia Correctional Colony (No. 107)" found itself in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. In this regard, Ukraine lost actual control over the institution and its property complex.
As a result of the temporary occupation, state authorities of Ukraine are deprived of the possibility to manage the institution, monitor the conditions of the convicts' detention, and obtain reliable information regarding the current state of the facilities and the manner of their use.
Thus, State Institution "Pryazovia Correctional Colony (No. 107)" belongs to those institutions of the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine that, after 24 February 2022, found themselves in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
In accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine and the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens and the Legal Regime on the Temporarily Occupied Territory of Ukraine," the territory on which the institution is located is an inalienable part of Ukraine, and state property remains the property of Ukraine regardless of the actual control over it.
